Botafogo is still looking for reinforcements and has a proposal ‘in the oven’ by the tricolor coach
Botafogo continues to act in the ball market since the opening of the transfer window in the middle of the year. The Club already has two signings on the way, targeting the 2023 season: they are midfielder Marlon Freitas, from Atlético-GO, the right name at Glorioso, and goalkeeper Lucas Perri, on loan from São Paulo to Náutico.
Speaking of São Paulo, Perri is not the only Cria de Cotia that Botafogo is interested in having in the alvinegro squad in 2023. As at the beginning of the year, the Club aims to hire midfielder Igor Gomes, 23 years old, who has a contract with Tricolor Paulista until March 2023, and is free to sign a pre-contract with other clubs from October 1st.
The midfielder’s renewal with São Paulo is stuck at the moment. That’s because the athlete rejected the first proposal offered by the tricolor board, which analyzes the conditions placed by shirt 26, who expects a salary appreciation, to make a new business attempt. In this case, Botafogo follows ‘behind the curtains’.
That’s because Glorioso, out of respect for the club from São Paulo, has not yet formalized proposals to the starting midfielder of Rogério Ceni. Botafogo’s board awaits Tricolor’s final decision to make an official proposal directly to Igor Gomes. The player’s hiring is seen with good eyes behind the scenes at Alvinegro, who believe that Igor has useful characteristics for the squad next season.
