Midfielder of the Russian national team Zelimkhan Bakaev, who moved to Zenit, declared in an interview with the club’s press service that he expects to win the national championship with the new team.
“Of course I want to be a champion, I don’t have that title yet. In general, I want to win everything! Competition is good, for me – for sure, so I will work, prove and do everything to be a player in the starting lineup, ”Bakaev said.
Zenit signed a contract with Bakaev, who left Spartak
According to Bakaev, this transition has become a new challenge for him. “And I’m ready for it. I will give my all one hundred percent, so that everyone is happy with me and well received. We made this decision together with my family and my agent. We consulted and decided that it would be best for us here,” Bakaev added.
The football player noted that the transition from Spartak to Zenit is always a special moment that excites everyone. “I understand that this is a special moment, and soon, probably, I will understand even more sharply. Sure, it won’t be easy, but that’s life. I will work to be well received here. On the other hand, I hope that people will understand me,” Bakaev said.
Bakaev’s transfer was announced on June 15. The agreement with the 25-year-old football player was signed under the 3+1 scheme.
On June 1, Spartak’s graduate Bakaev left the Moscow club as a free agent. Last season, the footballer scored three goals in 36 games for the Red-Whites and became the owner of the Russian Cup.
As part of the national team, Bakaev played 12 matches and scored one goal.
