Colorado returns to the field this Sunday (7), against Fortaleza, at Arena Castelão. The team is in sixth place in Serie A
After the dismissal of Alexander Medina, Internacional hired Mano Menezes to be in charge of the team. With a contract until the end of the year, the Club is close to sealing the commander’s stay for the year 2023, after about four months in command of Colorado. According to Gaúcha ZH, the contract between the parties does not have automatic renewal.
Mano was well evaluated by the Management Council and other members of the football department and now, Inter’s goal is to resolve this issue as soon as possible to prevent interest from other clubs, but also to show confidence in Mano Menezes’ project. Mano’s representative, Guilherme Prado, and Inter’s executive, William Thomas, have been dealing with the renewal of the coach for two weeks.
Inter’s intention is to make the new relationship official in August. Mano has already contributed to next year’s planning, indicating names to compose the technical commission and also the assembly of the team for next year. Inter live the expectation of returning to Libertadores, after being left out this year. The team is in the G-6 of Serie A and in the quarterfinals of the Copa Sudamericana.
In command of Colorado, Mano has 25 matches and 11 wins, 11 draws and only three losses, with a 58.6% use of points. Last Thursday (4), the team drew goalless against Melgar, in Peru. In addition to the good numbers, the daily work with the rest of the cast has been pleasing Inter’s board and those who accompany it.
This Sunday (7), Inter returns to the field to face the Fortaleza team, at Castelão. At the moment, the Gauchos are in sixth place with 33 points, the same score as Flamengo, fifth place. Fortaleza occupies the relegation zone with 18 points in the penultimate position, three less than Avaí, first outside the Z-4.
