Benzema equals Ronaldo’s record for Champions League playoff goals in a season

The Frenchman became the second player to score 10 goals in the Champions League playoffs in one season.

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema converted a penalty in extra time in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Manchester City.

He scored in the 95th minute of the meeting. RBC is broadcasting this game online.

The French striker became the second player to score 10 goals in the Champions League playoffs in one season. Previously, only Cristiano Ronaldo managed to do this in the 2016/17 season.

Benzema became the top scorer of the Champions League and set a record

In total, Benzema scored his 15th goal in the current tournament and strengthened his lead in the list of top scorers. In second place is Bayern’s Polish forward Robert Lewandowski (13).

Benzema is the fourth scorer in the history of the Champions League (86 goals). Ronaldo tops the list with 140, followed by Argentina’s Lionel Messi (125) and Lewandowski (86).
