Ryan Coogler also takes the opportunity to honor “his friend”, Chadwick Boseman, who died of colon cancer in 2020: “He was a giant in our industry. We also did something to enjoy in a theatrical setting with friends, family and strangers. Something to quote, discuss and debate. Something that makes people feel both physically and emotionally seen.”

“This film wouldn’t exist without an audience. Thank you for giving me a professional purpose and an emotional outlet. I look forward to sharing new stories with you”, concludes the director.
