Mexican boxer Saul Alvarez, after losing to Dmitry Bivol, called the Russian a great champion.

“Bivol is a great champion. Sometimes in boxing you win and sometimes you lose. I’m not going to make excuses. Today I lost, and he won, ”quotes him TASS.

Alvarez said he wants a rematch. “It can’t end like this,” he said.

Bivol, in turn, said he was ready for revenge. “No problem, let’s talk about it,” the boxer replied.

31-year-old Bivol defeated Alvarez and defended the World Boxing Association (WBA) super light heavyweight title (up to 79.38 kg). The fight took place on the morning of May 8 in Las Vegas. The Russian won the Mexican by unanimous decision (115:113, 115:113, 115:113).

31-year-old Alvarez is the absolute world champion in the second middleweight (up to 76.2 kg). At stake in this fight was only Bivol’s belt. The undefeated Russian has 20 wins in professional boxing (11 by knockout). Alvarez spent 61 fights in the professional ring, scoring 57 wins (39 by knockout) with two losses and two draws.
