Alvarez on defeat in fight against Bivol: I won the fight
The Mexican lost to the Russian boxer by unanimous decision. “I think maybe I lost four or five rounds. But I definitely didn’t lose the fight,” Alvarez said.

Mexican boxer Saul Alvarez, after losing to Dmitry Bivol, said that he had won the fight against the Russian.

Alvarez noted that he was a little tired by the final rounds, but stressed that he felt good. “I don’t feel like I lost the fight. Maybe several rounds. Maybe the weight was a bit of an issue. Because of this, I did not feel 100% during the fight, ”added the boxer.
Bivol praised the victory over Alvarez with the phrase “incredible fight”
Bivol defeated Alvarez and defended the World Boxing Association (WBA) super light heavyweight title (up to 79.38 kg). The fight took place on the morning of May 8 in Las Vegas. The Russian won the Mexican by unanimous decision (115:113, 115:113, 115:113).
Immediately after the fight, Alvarez called Bivol a great champion. “Sometimes in boxing you win and sometimes you lose. I’m not going to make excuses. Today I lost, and he won, ”said the Mexican.
