Brasil Futebol Expo and SBC join forces to focus on the local sports betting market

With the objective of conquering new sources of revenue with sponsorships, the sports betting market will be one of the main themes of Brasil Futebol Expo 2022, the biggest football event in Latin America. BFExpo 22, organized by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), focuses on education, business, experiences and innovation, and takes place from September 4th to 8th in São Paulo.

The Brasil Sports Betting Summit, a congress organized by BFExpo in partnership with SBC, one of the largest global producers of betting and gaming content, will have two days of conferences that will discuss the process of regulating the sports betting sector and the expansion of the market in the Brazil, with the participation of local and international experts.

This topic is particularly relevant, as currently 32 teams in the Brazilian Championship have some type of sponsorship from sports betting platforms. Of the 20 teams that compete in Serie A, 19 are sponsored by companies linked to sports betting. In Serie B, 13 have deals of this type in progress.

Sports betting has been the subject of relevant debates due to its income generation potential. Gambling has been legal since 2018 through federal law 12,756, although the regulation still needs to be approved and the deadline for doing so expires in December 2022. By law, companies are authorized to operate in Brazil, but as it is not a regulated activity, the headquarters are located abroad.

On September 6, at 9 am, the Brazil Sports Betting Summit will discuss precisely this topic. The panel “Sports Betting Regulations with a Focus on Latin America” will feature the participation of Deputy Assistant Secretary Alexandre Massa; Undersecretary for Special Affairs of the Economic Monitoring Secretariat of the Ministry of Economy Iuri Castro; Senior Executive Advisor to the Sports Betting Market and Member of the Executive Committee of the Global Lottery Monitoring System (GLMS) Ludovico Calvi; journalist specializing in lotteries and betting, editor of BNLData and president of the Instituto Brasileiro Jogo Legal (IJL) Magno José; and partners at GBSA Rafael Rodrigo Bruno and Carlos Gonçalves Junior.

On the ground floor are also the futsal, footvolley, Society and street courts where the different tournaments scheduled for the event will be held, such as Ligay, Futsal Down, football for amputees, in addition to competitions with university students, authorized schools and social projects. with children from São Paulo.

There will also be a gamer arena where participants will be able to play and where championships will be held. The entertainment space will also feature table football and a VAR simulator, a success of the first edition of the event, where visitors will be able to operate the video referee.
