On March 2, the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) announced the suspension of the membership of the Russian Bobsleigh Federation until at least July of this year. On June 16, the IBSF Appeals Tribunal reinstated the FBI.

The Russian Bobsleigh Federation was founded in 1992. She is a member of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) and IBSF. Over the past few years, the number of federation members has increased significantly (now there are 11 accredited regional federations and one non-accredited one).
