the sleeve of Dragon Ball Super It became the responsibility of Toyotaro, Toriyama’s right hand man. The goal was to free up the mangaka’s time to work on the script for the new “Broly” and “Super Hero” movies. The project that was left aside was the new anime sagas, which will have to wait until Toyotaro advances with more stories.

Four years have passed since the anime left television after the saga of the Tournament of Power. Right now, the manga is in the arc of Granola, the last survivor of the Cereal race.

Although there is no official date for the return of Dragon Ball Super, Iyoku, editor of V-Jump magazine, has confirmed that they are already working on the adaptation of the sagas that Toriyama has drawn.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is a movie that was made not just for the Japanese audience, but with the whole world in mind. Dragon Ball is a series that Japan is very proud of, so we felt a sense of responsibility while working on the film. In fact, we’re releasing it in the US this summer too!

What? “What comes next”? Well, if you’re asking, a new entry in the series is already in the works! Super Hero took us five years to make, so it’s only natural that we’re already working on what comes next! Toriyama-sensei is always working on new Dragon Ball concepts and ideas, after all. We are all thinking about what we want to show the world next”, he detailed.

If the series that premiered in 2015 took five years, possibly the anime will return in 2023.
