Player was removed after being spotted at a party in São Paulo, while the team faced Cuiabá
Jô left Corinthians after another episode of indiscipline. The player was spotted at a concert hall, while the team was on the field in front of Cuiabá, at Arena Pantanal. He played just six games for the Brazilian and can play in another first division team. According to UOL Esporte, two teams from Serie A probed the player and sought out Corinthians to find out more about Jô’s behavior.
The names of the teams were not revealed. Even with the off-field problems, shirt 77 has been seen as a more experienced solution for the offensive sector. Before the episode of indiscipline, Jô was the starter with coach Vítor Pereira in the role of center forward, even in rotation with other names such as Róger Guedes and Júnior Moraes, who arrived this year.
An advantage of the player is that he would arrive for free at the new Club, since he terminated with Timão, although he can only play in July after the new transfer window in the Brazilian Championship opens. Jô was on his third spell at Corinthians since 2020, after spending time in Japanese football with the Nagoya Grampus shirt.
Revealed by Corinthians himself, Jô debuted in 2003, still 16 years old. He was the youngest player to wear the Timão shirt. In 2006, he was sold to CSKA Moscow, where he played with other Brazilian athletes. He also wore the shirt of Manchester City, Everton, Galatasaray, Internacional and Atlético Mineiro, where he won the Libertadores in 2013, alongside Ronaldinho Gaúcho.
His return to Timão was in 2017. That year, he was champion of Paulistão and the Brazilian Championship. That year, he scored 25 goals in 61 matches, as well as seven other assists. In the last pass, he scored 22 chances in 105 matches. This year, there were only four goals scored in 19 games, the last of them in a 2-2 draw with Internacional.
