Active fans of the Moscow “Dynamo” joined the boycott of the matches of the Russian Premier League (RPL) due to the introduction of Fan ID (“Fan ID”). About it says in a statement on the website of the association “Dynasty”.
The RPL announced on June 21 that from the start of the season, the fan identification system will be used at the arenas of Ural, Pari Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov, Krylya Sovetov and Sochi. Other stadiums will join the project in the second part of the season.
“We understand that until January 2023 we could go to home matches and visit other arenas where this document is not yet required, but we do not accept the rules of the game, according to which you can go to some stadiums without hindrance, and to the rest only according to the “passport,” the statement says.
It is noted that the decision was made “as a sign of solidarity with the fans of those clubs that are already required to issue a“ passport ”, while the fans will continue to support Dynamo teams in other sports.
RPL named five stadiums where Fan ID will work from the beginning of the season
The new RPL season starts on July 15.
The Fan ID Act went into effect on June 1st.
Earlier, due to the adoption of the law on Fan ID, fan associations of most clubs, including Zenit, CSKA and Spartak, announced a boycott of matches. Fans of Spartak did not refuse to boycott even for the sake of the Russian Cup final.
A Fan ID may be denied if a fan or tournament participant has previously violated public order at a sporting event, including outside of Russia, or if there is information “about the intention to commit the relevant unlawful acts.” An application for a Fan ID can be submitted through the Gosuslugi portal.
Dynamo last season became the bronze medalist of the RPL and reached the final of the Russian Cup, where they lost to Spartak. In 2023, Dynamo will celebrate the centenary of its foundation.
