A protective glass fell on an NHL employee during a first-round playoff game between the Boston Bruins and the Carolina Hurricanes. This incident occurred at the end of the second period of the meeting, which took place in Boston.

The victim was the time-out coordinator Joe Foley. Boston fans, celebrating their team’s third goal, began banging on glass, which eventually fell on Foley, who was inside the penalty box.

As a result, Foley needed medical attention, he was taken off the ice on a stretcher and sent to the hospital. Boston Globe journalist Matt Porter later wrote on his Twitter that Foley is fine, he was hospitalized as a precaution.

The meeting was suspended for about ten minutes. Boston ended up winning 4-2 to close the gap in the series (1-2).
