Metallurg extended the contract with Vorobyov for two years

Finalist of the Gagarin Cup “Metallurg” announced on his website about the extension of the contract with the team’s head coach Ilya Vorobyov.
The new agreement is for two years, until the end of the 2023/24 season.
Last season, the Magnitogorsk team took first place in the Eastern Conference, winning 34 of 48 matches, and in the playoffs reached the final, where they lost to CSKA with a score of 3-4.

Vorobyov has been working at Metallurg as a head coach since May 2012. In Mike Keenan’s staff, he won the Gagarin Cup in 2014, became the team’s head coach in October 2015, and won the main KHL trophy again in the same season.
In November 2017, the specialist was dismissed, in 2018-2019 he led the Russian national team and SKA, and in September 2019 he returned to Magnitogorsk.
