While Universidad Católica lives its interseason and prepares to return to the fields, at the leadership level they focus on the great dream of the foothills: the renovation of the San Carlos de Apoquindo stadium. And today another important step was taken.

In a releaseCruzados announced that it has closed the placement of a bond of UF 600,000 (around 25 million dollars) for the modernization of the stadium. This figure is added to the 11 million dollars that were raised in the capital increase process.

In addition, the cast of the foothills announced the name of the construction company that will be in charge of the works for the renovated site: Cerro Apoquindo Cuatro SA, a company in charge of some branches of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, DUOC UC and the new Building of sports of the club.

And the deadlines? Construction of the renovated sports arena, which has a net cost of approximately $38 million, is expected to take 540 days, so UC aims to reopen its stadium in the first quarter of 2024.

UC will play the Chile Cup at its stadium and will host Unión San Felipe on Saturday, June 25. Five days later he will play again in the foothills, this time for the round of 16 of the Copa Sudamericana, where he must host Sao Paulo.

The Crusaders are also scheduled to play in Las Condes on July 3 against Coquimbo Unido, for matchday 16 of the National Championship, and on the 24th of the same month against Palestino, for matchday 19.

On the other hand, when the closure of the venue is announced, the Catholic University plans to exercise its locality in the National Stadium, which will be available between September and December, as confirmed by the Minister of Sports, Alexandra Benado.
