Daci twisted his knee during training on Wednesday during an unfortunate action and suffered a torn cruciate ligament. The attacker, who opened the score in the match against Cercle Brugge and thus ensured the first Western goal in 1A in more than five years, now needs surgery and will be sidelined for months.

Westerlo cannot count on Pietro Perdichizzi against AA Gent on Sunday. The defender was shown red against OH Leuven and was suspended for one match. Furthermore, De Roeck has a fully fit core.

Earlier this season, Luca Oyen, Adnane Abid (Genk), Tarik Tissoudali (Ghent), Edgaras Utkus (Cercle Brugge) and Jens Teunckens (Lierse) all tore their cruciate ligaments. At the end of last season, Lucas Bijker (KV Mechelen) experienced the same.
