Together with Vrancken, there are two new faces on the Genk practice field with T2 Kevin Van Dessel and physical coach Glenn Vanryckeghem. For Van Dessel it is a return to familiar territory. The Antwerp resident, who has been living in Genk for years now, was still active as a promising coach for KRC between 2018 and 2020.

In addition to the 19 early birds that were tested individually on Monday – the internationals are still on some sunny beach – three promises are also making their appearance. Mika Godts, Yentl Van Genechten and Dario Cutillas-Carpe join the A-squad until the friendly match against Termien. After that they drop out and they end up in the U23 selection, which will start working in 1B from August.

In the meantime, the exercise program is taking shape. First sparring partner this Saturday at 4 pm is neighbor Termien. SK Heist – Genk is scheduled for Saturday 2 July, also at 4 pm. From 4 to 9 July, KRC will move to Alkmaar, the Netherlands, where the annual summer internship will take place. On Wednesday 6 and Saturday 9 July, there will be practiced behind closed doors against FC Utrecht and Volendam respectively. The opponent on the annual fan day on Saturday, July 16 has not yet been announced.
