Iranian goalkeeper Alireza Beiravand suffered a head injury in the first match of the group stage of the World Cup against England.

In the eighth minute of the meeting, Beirawand reached for the ball and collided heads with defender Majid Hosseini.

Beirawand was treated for several minutes on the field, he had blood on his face. After that, the goalkeeper changed his shirt and decided to continue the match, but in the 17th minute he asked for a replacement, he was taken off the field on a stretcher.

This is the first substitution at the World Championship due to a suspected concussion.
