Karim Bachar remains in post as head coach of the Belgian national futsal team. The Royal Belgian Football Association confirms that his contract has been extended by two years.
The 46-year-old Bachar, former captain of Belgium, has been leading the team since January 2020. The Antwerper will certainly be at the helm until after the qualifying campaign of the 2024 World Cup.
“I am very proud that I can continue my work with my staff at the national futsal team. I was captain of this team for years and now I am a coach. So I can only be proud that I can continue my work at the federation,” says Bachar. “Our goal is to do as well as possible in the qualifiers for the Futsal 2024 World Cup. Qualifying for that World Cup is a very difficult task, but we will of course do our very best. On the other hand, we also want young players to gain experience, with a view to the future of the national team.”
