The Red Devil gave the visitors the lead after just seven minutes of football. Barely four minutes later, Leander Dendoncker leveled the Wolves. But with three more goals – two before and one after the break – KDB still secured the victory. In the end, Raheem Sterling also made it 1-5. De Bruyne’s third goal in particular – a clever shot, with his ‘lesser’ left, from the edge of the sixteen – was one to lick your thumbs and fingers.

De Bruyne is only the second Belgian after Romelu Lukaku to score four goals in one Premier League game. Wolverhampton-Manchester City is the first game ever in which five Belgian goals were scored.

Thanks to last night’s three-pointer, De Bruyne and co. their three point lead over first pursuer Liverpool. On the last two days, the Citizens will face West Ham (away) and Aston Villa (home)
