Olympic champion in the figure skating team tournament Mark Kondratyuk took third place at the fifth stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Samara.

Kondratyuk was in the lead after the short program, and in the free program he announced two quadruple jumps, from one of which he fell, and showed only the fifth result. In terms of total points (260.68), he took third place.

The stage winner was Gleb Lutfullin (273.56), who performed four quadruple jumps in the free program.

The second place was taken by Alexander Samarin (268.65).

As noted “RIA News”, Andrey Mozalev, who was second after the short program, fell from the quadruple salchow in the free program and was forced to interrupt the performance in order to tie his shoe laces. The skater continued to skate, but received seven penalty points and took fourth place.

“On landing from the salchow, the lace came off the hook. I realized that I could not continue. It took a break to finish. Scotch would have helped, but I stopped doing it. I thought everything was fine … Most likely, this is my oversight, ”said the skater.

In pair skating, Alexandra Boikova and Dmitry Kozlovsky (239.28) won, Yulia Artemyeva and Alexei Bryukhanov (214.60) took second place, Yasmina Kadyrova and Valery Kolesov (211.09) took third place.
