The former director of the sports broadcasting directorate of Channel One, Nikolai Malyshev, has died at the age of 84. About it in my Telegram channel informed Vasily Konov, Deputy General Producer of Match TV.

“Nikolai Nikolaevich Malyshev, the man who built the Channel One sports broadcasting directorate and was responsible for sports on the country’s main channel for more than twenty years, has died,” Konov wrote.

According to him, Malyshev was the standard of elegance, as well as an honest and real person, which is now difficult to find.

Malyshev was born on October 11, 1938 in Moscow. In 1963 he graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute. Sergo Ordzhonikidze, and in 1970 – the Moscow Institute of Oriental Languages ​​at Moscow State University. Received the title of master of sports in basketball.

For more than 10 years, Malyshev served as deputy head of the main department of international relations of the USSR State Sports Committee. Then he was the chief producer of the Ostankino television company. On the “First” was from the very foundation of the channel as a producer of sports programs. In 1995, he headed the directorate of sports broadcasting on Channel One. In 2017, Olga Chernosvitova replaced him in this position.
