After a sequence of ups and downs, Fluminense found their way back to winning ways in the last match, on Sunday (19), when they beat Avaí 2-0 at Maracanã, in a match valid for the 13th round of the Brazilian Championship. With the triumph, the team led by Fernando Diniz reached 18 points and now takes the sixth position, three points behind Athletico, Atlético-MG and Internacional.

Amid the struggle to stay in the classification group for next year’s Copa Libertadores, the Rio de Janeiro club remains active in the international transfer market. With the agreement on track to repatriate forward Alan, national champion with Tricolor das Laranjeiras in 2010, the board keeps an eye on another piece for the sector, and maintains advanced negotiations with Marrony.

The striker, ex-Vasco and Atlético-MG, currently defends Midtjylland, from Denmark, and is a target to be reinforced by the Rio team on loan. According to the investigation carried out by Globo Esporte, the player spoke with the management of the European club this Tuesday (21) and made it clear his interest in playing for Fluminense. He had already been scouted for a comeback earlier in the season, mainly by Internacional.

According to Globo Esporte, the management of the Danish club accepted the negotiation, but will still send a counter-proposal to the direction of Fluminense. Marrony was a specific request from Fernando Diniz, who has already talked to the player. The 23-year-old forward even went to Denmark in person to get the club’s release, which paid around R$28.3 million to sign him in 2021.
