Tom Pidcock made his return to the field yesterday. Wout van Aert announced his cyclocross calendar last week. For the time being, it is still a guess when Mathieu van der Poel will return to the field, although his training ride in the woods around Herentals suggests that that comeback will not be long in coming.

Will the chances of victory of Iserbyt, Sweeck and Vanthourenhout become a lot smaller soon? That could just be it. After Tom Pidcock made his comeback in the field earlier, it seems likely that Mathieu van der Poel will soon be seen again on the cross bike.
The Dutch all-rounder drove a few laps around him today, together with his brother David. There is therefore a good chance that the four-time world champion will start next week in Hulst, the Netherlands.
Anyone who knows the region a bit where Van der Poel went to train also knows that Wout van Aert lives not far from there. However, the Belgian champion in the field could not be found on a cross bike today. Van Aert went out for a bike ride to the Hageland. Van Aert certainly fits for the cross in Hulst. Both gentlemen will soon face each other in the field in Antwerp for the first time.
