Ahead of qualifying which will take place tonight at 10 p.m. CET, Sergio Pérez set the best time in free practice 3 of the Miami Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver lapped in 1:30.304, ahead of championship leader Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) by 194 thousandths.
Despite a minor fright at the end of the session, Max Verstappen and his Red Bull took third place, three tenths behind. Fernando Alonso (Alpine) takes fourth place. Amazing fifth time for Sebastian Vettel on his Aston Martin.
Another surprise is in sixth place with Mick Schumacher. The Haas driver, credited at seven tenths, precedes Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Kévin Magnussen (Haas), Alex Albon (Williams) again brilliant and Lando Norris (McLaren).
The session was interrupted following the exit of Esteban Ocon at turn 14. The Frenchman’s Alpine is badly damaged, it remains to be seen whether it can be repaired in time for qualifying…
