Menino da Vila, the striker did not have much space at Peixe, but he has drawn attention in the market working in Portuguese football
Santos enters the field tonight (5th) to face Universidad de Quito, from Ecuador, at the Atahualpa Olympic Stadium, for the 4th round of the Copa Sudamericana. In search of qualifying for the round of 16 of the tournament, Peixe can pocket US$500,000 (about R$2.5 million at the current price) if they advance to the next stage of the competition. And the alvinegro coffers may receive another millionaire jackpot, as Arthur Gomes has been successful in Europe.
Menino da Vila, the striker has defended the colors of Estoril, from Portugal, since the beginning of the 2021/2022 season on the Old Continent, and, since then, he has played 27 games, having scored two goals and given four assists. Because of this, three European clubs are interested in signing him, two from France and one from Portugal. The information is from the ‘Goal.com’ portal. In turn, Santos is entitled to a percentage if the deal is concluded.
That’s because Arthur Gomes arrived in Estoril for free, but Peixe kept 50% of its economic rights. The portal did not name the clubs interested in the deal, limiting itself to saying that the French “are used to playing UEFA competitions”, nor the value of a possible proposal. However, according to ‘Transfermarkt’, the ex-Santos striker has a stipulated market value of €1.5 million (approximately R$8 million at the current price).
If the Portuguese team sells Arthur Gomes for that amount, Peixe would be entitled to almost R$4 million, while the rest would go to Estoril himself. The 23-year-old striker debuted in Santos’ professional team in 2016 and, two years later, had his longest streak wearing the white-and-white shirt, when he played in 37 games and scored four goals. However, Arthur could not have the same sequence in Vila, being loaned to Chapecoense and Atlético-GO before going to Europe.
