Munich – Bayern is already German champions, but still there is simply no peace on Säbener Straße. The “Ibiza Affair”, future of Robert Lewandowski and the lack of transfers for the coming season are worrying FCB fans. At least it could a position in the gate will be closed for the time being.

FSV Mainz 05 on the day of the bowl handover. It will be interesting to see whether those involved will say anything about contract extensions or new signings. Julian Nagelsmann (coach, FC Bayern) before the game over…

… his expectations of his first FCB season: “I always try to go in with relatively few expectations. I have my ideas that such a big club should bring with them. There were a lot of things that made it not work out that way. The long absences of Goretzka, Kimmich or Davies. There were also a few political issues. There was a lot to do, but that’s also appealing.”

… his anticipation of the bowl: “Now I’m looking forward to the game – and then I’ll think about the bowl.”

… Felix Magath’s accusation of distorting competition: “I am responsible for my team, not for Hertha. Everyone is responsible for their own sporting situation. But of course we want to finish the season perfectly.”

… the Ibiza affair: “I saw how the training week was. The tension was good. Well, the boys weren’t all drinking in a coma. Ibiza and Mallorca are always equated with three per thousand, but there are also people who don’t drink there.”

… the bank of Niklas Süle: “He got the chance against Mainz and didn’t play well. We still have a performance principle. We also have to see who will form the chain next year. There would also have been coaches who would not have given Niklas a minute. He won’t be there next season, I don’t think I’m heartless.”

Pellegrino Matarazzo (coach VfB Stuttgart) before the game over…

… the game: “We have our own task. We have a chance of points if we throw everything in. Today is not unimportant for us.”

... the tactics of VfB: “If pushing up doesn’t work, we have to stand low. Then we have to be more compact and deeper. You can’t push up all the time. Today is about the heart. That the heart works and that you play football with passion.”

… Bayern and the relegation battle: “I’m assuming they’re hot. They have their best eleven on the pitch. If they drop even a few percentage points, we have to be there. You feel a more positive pressure. That we have the chance of staying up in the league and maybe not having to be relegated.”
