A rare National Treasures Rookie NBA Logoman 2018 trading card featuring Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic sold at PWCC for a record $3.12 million. informs TMZ.

The front side of the card features the 23-year-old Docic himself, as well as a patch on the jersey in which he played in his debut season in the NBA, and the basketball player’s autograph. On the back is a quote from the Slovenian, in which he joked that he would end his career if he scored a dunk through LeBron James.

“This is the highest price for which a basketball card has been sold at a confirmed public auction,” said Jesse Craig, PWCC vice president of sales. “When this card went on sale, we deliberately avoided price speculation because it was an important moment for the market to determine the value of the best Luca card.”

TMZ notes that in 2021, the same Doncic card was sold for $4.6 million, but then it was a private deal. The record belongs to a LeBron James card that was sold for $5.2 million (also a private deal).

Doncic was selected by the Atlanta Hawks with the third overall pick in the 2018 draft, after which he was immediately traded to Dallas. From 2015 to 2018, the Slovenian played for Real Madrid, with which he won the Euroleague (2018) and became a three-time national champion (2015, 2016, 2018). In the NBA, he participated in the All-Star Game three times (2020-2022), was recognized as the best rookie of the season (2019). As part of the national team, Doncic won the European Championship (2017).
