FC Bayern can remove the next central defender from the list of candidates. DFB star Matthias Ginter is moving to SC Freiburg.

Update from May 4th, 2:45 p.m.: Now the thing is fixed! Matthias Ginter returns to SC Freiburg on a free transfer. The central defender is leaving Borussia Mönchengladbach after five years and rejoining his youth club.

“I wanted to do something very special again in my career and there is nothing more special for me than returning to the sports club and my home country,” the 28-year-old is quoted as saying on the sports club’s website. In Freiburg, Ginter will wear shirt number 28, and nothing is known about the contract period.

According to consistent media reports, Matthias Ginter prefers Borussia Monchengladbach to his old homeland Sc freiburg.
