Papa da Cidade has been running a very competitive campaign in Série B of the Brazilian Championship, however, on Ilha do Retiro, there is a paradoxical situation: at the same time that the sport is strong in the competition’s G-4 fight, the work of coach Gilmar Dal Pozzo is the target of criticism and questioning. The pressure from the crowd is constant, however, the coach has the confidence of the squad.

One of the leaders of the Rubro-Negro group, defender Sabino, gave an interview and detailed the importance of Dal Pozzo in charge of the team: “The teacher is a very important guy for us because he came and changed our team. And as much as some people say otherwise, we are doing very well in the championship. Our style of play is being well implemented and a lot by the coach, for his way of playing and his method of work”, commented the defender.

Dal Pozzo arrived at Leão in March and so far, has been on the edge of the lawn, commanding Sport, in 19 games. There were eight wins, seven draws and four defeats. The head sheriff of the coach endorses the union of the group around the teacher: “He has the full support of the players. And I also believe the board too. He’s a sensational guy, not only him but his entire commission as well. He came to add and in my view he added to all of us. A very good guy who gives us confidence”.

Leão do Norte’s next challenge is the Clássico dos Clássicos, the duel against Náutico takes place this Saturday (18), at the Aflitos Stadium. The City Dad enters the field needing to win to stay in the G-4 of the competition. With 19 points, it is in fourth place, followed closely by Grêmio, which has 18, in fifth place.
