Arranged since the beginning of April with Vitória, Héctor Urrego can finally make his debut with the red-black shirt next Monday (9), at 8 pm, against Aparecidense, away from home, for the 5th round of the Brazilian Series C. Officially introduced this Wednesday (4), the Colombian defender, who had only been training at Toca do Leão in the last month, was regularized at the CBF BID this Tuesday (3), and hopes to leave his mark on Barradão.

In a press conference, Urrego was inspired by his compatriots who have passed through Vitória, such as goalkeeper Viáfara and forwards Aristizábal and Santiago Tréllez, who remains in the red-black squad: “I know that the Colombians who passed through here left a great mark. Now it’s up to me to follow this path to leave a mark, to give my best. Engaged with everyone who is training. I am available for whatever the teacher wants”, declared the defender.

At the age of 29, Héctor Urrego began his career at Santa Fé, Colombia, where he also played for Independiente Medellín and Jaguares de Córdoba, as well as defending the colors of Curicó Unido, Chile, and Sol de América, Paraguay. Now at Leão, the defender recalled that he already had an opportunity to wear the red-black colors in the past, and exposed his main objective at Vitória, which includes the return to Serie A of the Brazilian.

Urrego was grateful to Vitória for having put in the effort in his signing, promising to match the height on the field: “When I was at Santa Fé, I had the opportunity to play for Vitória, but it didn’t happen. The opportunity came up again, so I’m happy to be at a great institution. Thank the management for the great effort to count on me. The expectation is to help the team to be in the elite of Brazilian football, where it should be”, concluded the defender.
