The Uruguayan attacker, Darwin Núñez, will be transferred from Benfica to Liverpool for around 100 million euros and becomes the most expensive signing in the history of the Reds.

This Monday the benfica made the transfer of the Uruguayan official Darwin Nunez to the Liverpool for 75 million fixed costs and another 25 million variables.

That is to say, the terms of the signing amount to 100 million euros, which makes the 22-year-old forward from Uruguay the most expensive signing in the history of the reds, surpassing Virgil Van Dijk which cost 85 million.

Núñez arrives at Liverpool with a contract until 2028 and a salary of 6 million euros net per year, which makes him one of the best paid in the club.

The Uruguayan former Almería will give the strikers a break Salah and Firminoin addition to replacing Sadio Manewho will probably travel to Munich to sign his contract with Bayern.

“In the early hours of this Monday (0:44 am), Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Futebol, SAD informed the Securities Market Commission (CMVM) that it reached an agreement with Liverpool FC for the sale of all rights of the player Darwin Núñez, for an amount of 75 million euros”, says the statement from Benfica.

“To the CMVM, the SAD of Benfica also reported that the agreement provides for the payment of a variable remuneration, for which the global amount of the sale could reach the value of 100 million euros”they add.

“It is also reported that the aforementioned agreement is subject to the signing of the player’s sports employment contract with Liverpool FC”, they conclude.

Darwin Núñez made his professional debut at Peñarol in 2017 and after three seasons he jumped to Almería in the Spanish second division, where he was only for one season, before drawing the attention of Benfica.

In the last season with the Portuguese team he scored 34 goals in 41 games, in addition to contributing with 4 assists. Currently, he is selected Uruguayan.
