Olympic champion Sergei Shirokov left Spartak and moved to Avtomobilist

Forward Sergey Shirokov has signed a contract with the KHL Avtomobilist club. About it reported on the site of the Yekaterinburg team.
The term of the agreement with the 36-year-old hockey player was two years.
Since 2020, Shirokov has been playing for Spartak. He spent the 2021/22 season as team captain and scored 29 (10 + 19) points in the regular season and 2 (1 + 1) in the playoffs. His contract with Spartak ended on April 30.

Also in the KHL, Shirokov played for CSKA, Avangard and SKA, in the NHL he played eight games for the Vancouver Canucks. In 2017 he won the Gagarin Cup with SKA.
Shirokov is the 2018 Olympic champion and two-time world champion (2012, 2014) as part of the Russian national team.
Spartak last season reached the quarterfinals of the Gagarin Cup, where they lost to SKA. Avtomobilist failed to make it to the playoffs.
