“Washington” Alexander Ovechkin lost to “Florida” and flew out of the NHL playoffs
The capital club lost in six matches to Florida. The Capitals finished the Stanley Cup in the first round of the playoffs for the fourth year in a row.

The Washington Capitals lost at home to the Florida Panthers in the sixth game of the first round of the NHL playoffs and ended the fight for the Stanley Cup.
The meeting ended with the score in overtime 4:3 (0:0, 1:1, 2:2, 1:0).
The winners included Ryan Lomberg (27), Claude Giroud (49) and Alexander Barkov (55). Washington scored Nick Dowd (24), Niklas Backstrom (42) and TJ Oshie (59). In overtime, the decisive goal was scored by Carter Verage (63).
Florida won the best-of-four series 4-2.

Washington, after winning the Stanley Cup in 2018, completed the playoffs in the first round for the fourth time in a row. The team captain is Alexander Ovechkin, three Russians still play for the team – forward Evgeny Kuznetsov, defender Dmitry Orlov and goalkeeper Ilya Samsonov.
Florida is the winner of the NHL regular season. “Washington” finished fourth in the standings of the Capital Division.
