Going through a complicated moment in the current edition of the Brazilian Championship, Coritiba comes from three defeats, one draw and one victory in the last five games, which made the team from Paraná fall to 15th place. With only one competition to play, Coxa has 22 points in 20 rounds and is just two ahead of the relegation zone, headed by Cuiabá.

Away from the pitch, the backstage of the alviverde team has been busy, mainly involving finances. In the midst of this situation, Coritiba has the possibility to “relieve” its accounts with the sale of players, and the club’s biggest asset at the moment is Igor Paixão. According to Globo Esporte, the striker has already received several proposals from Feyenoord, from Holland, but the Coxa-Branca board plays tough.

The Dutch would be willing to pay 6.5 million euros for the young man, around R$34.2 million. On the other hand, the values and percentages have not yet reached Coritiba’s expectations. The offers increased more and more: in April, in the first investment, Feyenoord proposed 2 million euros, approximately R$ 10.5 million, and, according to GE, a new investment should take place in the next few days.

At the age of 22, Igor Paixão is Coxa’s highlight of the year. There were 37 games, 11 goals scored and 10 assists so far. In February, he had his contract renewed until 2024, with a release clause of R$100 million for the domestic market and 50 million euros, around R$260 million, for abroad. The board, however, plans to keep him at least until the end of 2022 at the club.
