After Novak Djokovic, banned from traveling to Montreal since not vaccinated, it was Rafael Nadal who withdrew from the Masters 1000 of Canada which begins on Monday August 8.
The Spaniard, who is currently training at his academy in Mallorca, is not yet 100%. He announced it on his Twitter account this Friday.
“Since the holidays and my return to training afterwards, everything has been going well. Four days ago I also resumed training on duty but yesterday after training I felt an embarrassment that was still there today”he wrote.
The world number 3, who had to withdraw before his semi-final against Kyrgios at Wimbledon for a seven millimeter long abdominal tear, will continue to train without forcing. It remains to be seen if he will be ready for the Cincinnati Masters (August 14 to 21).
