Manager of the restaurant where the players at the ATP Finals eat, Gianluca Bernardi told in an interview with La Stampa about some of the interesting taste preferences of the contestants.

According to Bernardi, Serb Novak Djokovic follows the strictest diet, and Andrey Rublev is the most “gluttonous”.

The most curious thing for Bernardi was Rublev’s “surrealistic” eating habits. He recalled one occasion when a 25-year-old tennis player asked for fried shrimp for lunch by the pool when it was only 8 degrees Celsius outside. At the same time, the tennis player continued to drink cappuccino.

“I’m Russian, don’t worry,” Rublev said then to Bernardi.

The manager explained the “strange” culinary preferences of some players by the fact that there are no Italians among the participants in the ATP Finals.

The final tournament will end on November 20. The prize fund of the competition is $14.75 million.

Rublev on November 18 will hold a match against the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas. The winner of this match will advance to the semi-finals of the ATP Finals. The bookmaker’s office “Fonbet” accepts bets on the victory of Rublev with a coefficient of 2.25, Tsitsipas – 1.65.
