Matías Caruzzo signed his contract as the new football coordinator for San Lorenzo on Tuesday. The former Ciclón defender will be advised by Fernando Berón, who will resume his central role as coordinator of youth soccer and both will integrate a Soccer Table with leadership participation.
One of Caruzzo’s first objectives in his new role will be to advance in the hiring of a coach for the First Division, with the start of the next Professional League set for the first weekend of June in mind.
Later, between the Soccer Table and the chosen coach, they will work on the formation of the professional squad, both in the search for reinforcements and in contract renewals and terminations.
Caruzzo played in San Lorenzo between 2015 and 2018. He played 118 games, scored 8 goals and even wore the captain’s ribbon. He retired in June 2021 playing for Argentinos Juniors, the club where he started his career.
Before hanging up his boots, he had taken the sports advisor course and in 2021, after completing training provided by Nicolás Burdisso, he obtained the title of sports director.
