Saudi footballer carried away on stretcher after colliding with own goalkeeper

Saudi Arabia defender Yasser Al-Shahrani was injured in the end of the match of the first round of the World Cup group stage against the team of Argentina.

In stoppage time for the second half, after a cross into the penalty area, the goalkeeper of his own team, Mohammed Al-Owais, crashed into him. Al-Shahrani was hit in the head with a knee.

Medics appeared on the field and carried him away on a stretcher. Al-Shahrani was conscious.

The meeting itself ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of the Saudi Arabian team.
