Sernane Segniagbeto, a 22-year-old Belgian playing in Qatar, died in a car accident

After Al Ittifaq, Sernane Segniagbeto joined Al Taawon this summer in the United Arab Emirates. Before leaving for the Emirates, the player with an attacking profile had known Waremme, Solières and Visé in Belgium and Hertha Walheim in Germany.

He died at the age of 22 in a car accident. On board the car, there was the driver, Sermane and one of his friends. The driver escaped unscathed but the two passengers died instantly.

The young player was playing in D2 in Qatar. He had just joined the Al Taawon club after having had a full season with Al Ittifaq where he scored 22 goals and made 11 assists in just 18 games.

In Qatar, there can only be two foreign players under the age of 23 within their core. The leaders had made him a priority for this new season.

The editorial staff of The Last Hour / Les Sports + offers its most sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Sernane.
