Fedor Emelianenko’s remarks against the head of the MMA Union of Russia Radmir Gabdullin negatively affect the image of the organization, Alexander Shlemenko, an ex-fighter of the Bellator promotion and adviser to the head of the MMA Union of Russia, told RBC Sport.

“I don’t want to enter into additional controversy with Fedor Emelianenko. Can continue to consider me anyone, but I have my own opinion, which I will continue to express. I have already said that I do not understand why Fedor brought this conflict with Gabdullin into the public space. It could have been solved in other ways. All the noise only negatively affects the image of the MMA Union of Russia, ”said Shlemenko.

Earlier, the Russian mixed martial arts fighter Fedor Emelianenko, who recently left the MMA Union of Russia, said that Alexander Shlemenko gives comments on a topic that he does not understand.

“I am sorry that Alexander Shlemenko, thinking about the good of the MMA Union, in which he became an adviser to the incumbent president, attracts attention by distributing comments left and right about a situation that he did not understand. It was unpleasant for me to realize that Radmir, who aspires to politics, and Alexander, who becomes a popular blogger, have the same handwriting, ” leads words of Emelianenko portal Metaratings.

At the end of April, members of the MMA Union of Russia suggested that the president of the association, Radmir Gabdullin, leave the post ahead of schedule due to inefficient work, and after his refusal, an extraordinary reporting and election conference was convened, vice-president of the organization Andrey Terentyev told Match TV.

“April 20 was the presidium. Radmir showed his inefficient work, there was no financial transparency in the union. We unanimously decided that we would propose to Radmir that he resign. Radmir refused and said that he would be nominated for the next term. We voted for an extraordinary reporting and election conference,” said Terentiev.

Emelianenko has been President of the MMA Union of Russia since its inception in 2012. He stepped down from his post in 2018, becoming chairman of the organization’s supervisory board. He was replaced by Gabdullin.

On April 2, Emelianenko resigned as Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
