Solidarity Income in Colombia: consultation of 2022 beneficiaries and when they pay

Solidarity Income It is an economic support from the National Government to households in conditions of poverty, extreme poverty and in conditions of economic vulnerability, whose purpose is to mitigate in that population the impacts derived from the emergency caused by COVID-19. This subsidy seeks to support four million households in conditions of poverty and economic vulnerability that are not beneficiaries of other social programs such as Families in Action, Youth in Action, Sales Tax Compensation – VAT or Protection of the Elderly – Colombia Mayor .

The formation of the Master Base of Potential Beneficiaries of the Solidarity Income Program was defined by the National Planning Department (DNP) based on the updated information of households in the Sisbén databases, excluding the beneficiaries of other monetary transfer programs, and crossing with other databases, such as PILA and pensioners, identified the families in the greatest state of vulnerability.

How do I know if I am a beneficiary of the Solidarity Income program?

To check if you are a beneficiary of the program, you must register on the program page. Here we tell you how to do it:

  • In the Citizen Digital Authentication service, log in with your ID number if you are already registered or go to REGISTER HERE.
  • In the TYPE OF ACCESS, select REGISTRATION WITH IDENTITY DOCUMENT and continue with the process.
  • Once you are registered, go back to the program page and log in (steps 1, 2 and 3).
  • Upon entering the system, a window will appear with the information of the registered user. Check the data and close the window.
  • Click on the CONSULT DRAFT AND BENEFICIARIES button. Finally, a window will appear with the information related to your household (if you are a beneficiary, state of the household, etc.).

Increase in the amount of Solidarity Income

The president of Colombia, Iván Duque, recalled that the Solidarity Income that will be paid throughout 2022 and will suffer a variation that increases its value from 380 thousand to 400 thousand pesos the bimonthly payment, that is, this subsidy increases to 5.2% or $20 thousand pesos. In addition, the differentiated payments from the month of July must be taken into account:

  • Single-person households that belong to group A of Sisbén IV will receive a bi-monthly payment of $420,000.
  • Households with two or more people in group A of Sisbén IV will receive bi-monthly payments of $435,000.
  • Households with two or more people in group B of Sisbén IV will receive bi-monthly payments of $420,000.

Solidarity Income: how to collect?

Two modalities were established: For people who already have an account or deposit in the financial system, and it is active, that is, they have used it in the last 6 months, the resources will be paid by the financial institution where they are a client. This financial entity, once you have made the payment, will notify you.

Those who do not have a financial product will receive a text message informing them that they are a beneficiary of the Solidarity Income, so that from their cell phone they can open the banking product in one of the financial entities linked to the program, following the instructions in the message.   • Third payment: third week of May.
  • Fourth payment: third week of July.
  • Fifth payment: second week of September.
