Evgeny Melezhikov, general director of Spartak Moscow, told reporters that the decision of the Russian Football Union (RFU) to hold the Super Cup against Zenit St. Petersburg at the Gazprom Arena was “a bit biased.”
Answering the question whether the principle of the neutral field will be discussed further, Melezhikov said: “We will not discuss anything anymore. This is an absolutely hopeless business. The decision has already been made. We just need to accept it.”
“But we do not agree with the decision of the bureau of the executive committee. It’s a little biased. Let’s get ready to fight. I repeat once again, we are not announcing a boycott (of the match). We were ready for a constructive dialogue. In our letter it was not that in case of dissatisfaction with our proposals, we will not play, – Match TV quotes him.
