Figure skater Alisa Dvoeglazova won the singles competition at the fifth stage of the junior series of the Russian Grand Prix – the Volga Pirouette tournament in Samara.
The result of student Eteri Tutberidze in total for two programs was 221.51 points.
The second place was taken by Irina Smirnova’s ward Victoria Morozova (198.51), the third was the student of Vera Latkina Maria Ageeva (194.80).
For the first time in the season, a student of two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko did not win the Grand Prix stage. Previously, two victories were on account of Veronika Zhilina and Sofia Titova. In Samara, only Maria Mazer competed from the Angela Plushenko Academy, finishing sixth (188.99).
Russian skaters are currently unable to compete internationally due to a suspension by the International Skating Union (ISU). As an alternative, the Russian Grand Prix series was created.
