UFC bans fighters from entering the octagon with national flags

Ecuadorian fighter Marlon Vera said he was banned from fighting Rob Font at the upcoming UFC on ESPN 35 in Las Vegas with the flag of his country

The leadership of the UFC forbade the fighters of the organization to go to fights with national flags. About this in an interview with journalist Jose Luis Santacruz told Ecuadorian fighter Marlon Vera.

The Ecuadorian always enters the octagon with the flag of his country, but now the UFC has banned him from doing so in the upcoming tournament. Vera will take on American Rob Font in the main event of UFC on ESPN 35 on May 1 in Las Vegas.

The 29-year-old Vera has 18 wins, seven losses and one draw in mixed martial arts. He is ranked eighth in the UFC’s bantamweight division.

The 34-year-old Font has 19 wins and five losses, placing him in fifth place in the rankings. Aljamain Sterling is the UFC bantamweight champion.
