Russian tennis player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova failed to reach the second round of the tournament in Rome with a prize fund of €2.52 million.
In the first round, the Russian, seeded at the tournament under the 14th number, lost to the Canadian Leila Fernandez with a score of 6:1, 2:6, 2:6.
The next opponent of 19-year-old Fernandez will be Russian Daria Kasatkina, who in her first round match won Slovenian Tamara Zidansek.
