Former fourth racket of the world Australian Jelena Dokic was close to suicide in the spring. As the athlete herself said on her Instagram page (the owner of the social network, Meta, is recognized as an extremist organization in Russia and banned), she was very upset by the separation from her partner Tin Bikich, with whom they lived for 19 years.
“I just wanted to end the suffering,” she wrote. – It was a terribly difficult six months, I was not let go of the feeling of pain and sadness, I kept thinking that my life was ruined. I consider myself unworthy of love, and it scares me.”
However, the publication ends on more optimistic notes. Dokic admits that the situation has improved. “I can’t say that everything is fine now, but I am definitely on the right track,” she wrote. “I turned to specialists who helped me. You have to fight and survive to survive until the next day. I will come back stronger than ever.”
Dokic retired in 2014. She is the winner of ten WTA tournaments, once played in the semi-finals of the Grand Slam tournament.
