Corinthians ended the season reaching the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores da América, the final of the Copa do Brasil and ended the Brazilian Championship in fourth place, getting a direct place for the South American competition. One of the highlights of Team do Povo in the season was Cássio, who ended up winning the Silver Ball, as the best goalkeeper in the Brasileirão.

The season was chosen by the captain of Timão as the most regular of his entire career, even more so than 2012, when Clube Paulista was crowned champion of Libertadores and also of the Club World Cup: “I think the most regular yes (about 2022 being one of his best years), with all tranquility and humility. Sometimes people may or may not agree. If you take the whole year and the goals I conceded, they were goals that the guys hit right there in the drawer. Speaking of me, if you take the numbers, it was a pretty regular, pretty good year.”said the number 12 in an interview with Corinthians TV.

For Cássio, the good individual season he had just motivates him to take care of himself and have an even better 2023: “It motivates me much more to be even better next season, to take care of myself, to prepare well, on vacation too. Enjoy a little, but take care of yourself to start the next season well ”, he said. The goalkeeper also said that he predicts good things for Corinthians next year🇧🇷 “I am really confident about our next season”finished.

The player was responsible for many triumphs acquired by Corinthians this season. One of them was against Bragantino, in which he avoided Massa Bruta’s tie after a header by Luan Cândido, in the 45th minute of the second half. Another unforgettable moment was the penalty shootout against Boca Juniors in the round of 16 of the Libertadores. At the time, the goalkeeper saved Villa and Ramírez’s kicks.

In 2023, Cássio reaches his eleventh year at Corinthians, and is already the second player with the most appearances for Timão. With the alvinegra shirt, the player won a Club World Cup and a Libertadores – 2012, two Brazilian Championships – 2015 and 2017 -, four Paulista Championships – 2013, 2017, 2018 and 2019 – and a Recopa Sudamericana – 2013.
