Head of the Investigation Department of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) Leonid Ivanov told in an interview with Match TV, what threats he received during his work.
“Everything happened, threats too. But the closer to today, the less often. What did they threaten? different. Surveillance car somehow followed me everywhere. Who, why is unclear, but unpleasant. Maybe, on the contrary, they were guarding, it was in one of the regions, ”said Ivanov.

According to him, they also sometimes tried to hint at high connections. “But 99 percent of the time it’s just words. And not so long ago, now it’s already possible to tell, we visited a bodybuilding competition and did not find mutual understanding with one of the organizers. And they didn’t find it so much that it turned into a conflict, ”Ivanov added.
He noted that it was the head of the Moscow Bodybuilding Federation, Oleg Makshantsev. “The man showed ignorance of the anti-doping code and took everything with hostility. Opposed to doping control. He interfered physically, shouted, demanded to leave, consulted with someone. They explained to him: everything is within the law. Private security escorted us out anyway. Okay, fixed, also called the police. As a result, the person was disqualified for 12 years, the accreditation was withdrawn from the Moscow Federation, ”Ivanov concluded.
