The decision to remove the Polish national football team from games only applies to Spartak defender Maciej Rybus, other Polish players playing in the Russian Premier League (RPL) will not be affected. This was stated by the press officer of the national team Jakub Kwiatkowski.
“Against the background of this decision, is it worth expecting such an outcome for [Себастьяна] Szymanski, who is in Dynamo, and [Гжегожа] Krychowiak, who returned to Krasnodar? Our statement concerns only Maciej Rybus, not Szymanski and Krychowiak,” quotes his Metaratings.
In Poland, they did not find reasons for sanctions after the removal of Rybus from the national team
On the afternoon of June 20, it became known that the defender of the Moscow “Spartak” Maciej Rybus was excluded from the application of the Polish national team. The Polish Football Federation reported that the head coach of the national team, Czesław Mikhnevich, talked to Rybus and told him that due to his “current club position”, he would not be called up to the September training camp of the national team, and would not go to the World Cup in Qatar.
Rybus signed a contract with Spartak a week and a half ago. After that, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Marcin Przydacz, urged not to involve the defender in the games of the national team. “There is nothing more shameful than hiding behind the “good of the family” for the sake of big money. And it’s blood money. I hope he never plays for Poland again. Playing in a T-shirt with an eagle on the chest is a great honor, those who do not understand this are unworthy of it, ”the diplomat said.
